"Hello,

I have a 5.0L MFI Mercruiser with a Bravo One Outdrive. I'm having an issue where the transmission does not shift into drive unless I push the lever forward until the engine starts to increase in RPM. Is there an easy way to make an adjustment so the transmission shifts into gear earlier?"

Sounds like the lower shift cable is getting ready to fail. If you do not know how to check this have it done.
The shift cable is not easy to adjust and if not adjusted as needed can cause major damage to the lower gear case. Like right now!
