Electric Primer question

"I am a new user. I have a 30H

"I am a new user. I have a 30HP Johnson OB. Electric Start, 1992. When at full throttle it will suddenly loose power. I found that at idle primer squirted fuel out of the hoses. Could this cause that problem.
It does not miss but almost seems that motor is loosing RPM's

"The RED lever on the primer solenoid should be over top of the solenoid, pointed directly at the other end of the solenoid. This is the automatic position. Pointed in the opposite direction is the manual position which would have the fuel flowing directly thru it constantly."
