"I have just acquired a used boat and trailer with a Suzuki DT115 2 stroke motor with power trim etc. etc. I am trying to find out how old the motor is. The previous owner purchased it 'second hand' and pretty much never used the boat. His knowledge or memory of what the original owner told him about the boat and motor is somewhat non-existent.
I did try and use the Model Number Guide available on this site to date the engine but it did not work for my engine number as the number on the plate has no following alphabetic characters in it to establish model variations, shaft length, year etc. My engine number as per the riveted S/N plate on the engine is <font color=""ff0000"">DT11502</font> (printed on the plate) followed by <font color=""ff0000"">202402</font> (stamped into the plate).
Any feedback would be most welcome - thanks.
P.S. I don't know if it helps but I am located in South Africa and can only assume that the motor was originally purchased from a Suzuki dealer or boat dealer here in South Africa."
