We have 2 cyrsler 318s. We can't keep them both running for more than 1 hr. We have drained the gas tanks and re-filled and replaced the fuel filters numerous times because it acted like there was water in the fuel getting to the engines. Each one will sometimes restart after 15-20 minutes. The temperature doesn't get over 160F. Why won't these engines stay running and why won't they re-start? Also how do you remove the fuel intake line from the tank? It spins but won't pull out.

Sounds to me like something still in the gas tank like sentiment or paper or other crud is clogging the intake to the gas line. twenty minutes of non use and it floats away.
Also sounds like a temperature related coil problem. Some coils only fail at high operating temp.

Don't discount the fuel filters.. There was so much water and stuff in one of my tanks - switched to Racor drainable filters; and had to drain out the water every 15 minutes or so more than a half-dozen times before it started to clear up
