"I am thinking of switching to a solid state ignition system. I have seen the Pertronix Soldic State conversion system and it looks to be pretty inexpensive and no additional parts to change.

But If I wanted to change over to use an MSD system what distributor could I buy?
A little research shows that it is a prestolite,
I have read on a few sites that all Mercruiser 4 cly stern drives use a Delco distributer, but does that cross reference to any GM motor to use a Mallory/ Accel or MSD distributor?

I have a 1987' 3.7L 165 stock system with points."
