My boat/engine owner's man

My boat/engine owner's manual list the RV8C. The Seloc manual and the Champion catelog list the RV15YC4 for this engine. Installed presently are NGK BR6FS. The reach is longer on the RV15's than on the NGK and an Autolite equivalent to the RV8C. The electrodes are maybe 1/8 to 3/16" longer into the cylinder. I am afraid of hitting the piston with the RV15's.

You may safely use RV15YC4. The change was made mainly to improve idling on raw water cooled engine.

"Morten, would you recommend

"Morten, would you recommend switching from BR6FS's to RV15YC4's?

I have a 1988 4.3L... what would be the best plugs for it?

When I bought the boat it had RV15YC4's installed, I got worried and changed them to shorter plugs (BP6FS).

Thanks!"

"I would use RV15YC4. American

"I would use RV15YC4. American engines = American plugs, Japaneese engines = Japaneese plugs! I have nothing in principle against NGK, but preferr to use what the manufacturer installs/recomends. I even have AmCar friends back in Norway that changed to RV15YC4, improved fuel economy, idling and performance. They tried everything, but stayed with the RV15YC4! If Your main use is full throtle stay with RV8C."
