"I have reviewed the other discussions and noticed there are others with similiar issues. The issue that the boat and I are having is that at 3000 rpm's there is a slight loss of power for a spit second. The motor is not making any other noises. I have recently replaced the coil, points and condensor. The coil is getting warm however is getting extremly hot. I did make an error and installed an automotive coil, this coil did get extremly hot and cracked. Afterwards installed correct coil however did not have a chance to put it in the water due to other repairs that needed attention. Thanks for the help."
