"Hello,
I am wondering if somebody may be able to point me in the right direction before I reside to pull my boat out of the water and have to leave it with a shop for the rest of the season.

I have a 2000, Optimax 225. Recently, at RPM's higher than about 2500, the engine will eventually bog down. It initially appeared that there might be a fuel injection problem or water in the fuel. However, when I tilt the engine forward imediately after running it, water pours out of the head of the engine. Once the water is out, the engine runs fine again. The cooling water ejection port still shoots out water when running, but when the engine rev's up, water starts to back up into the head, so I am wondering if there is somewhere else in the lower unit where water exits, that is clogged? Or, is there a seal between the powerhead and the lower unit where water should not be backing up into the top of the engine, and perhaps a gasket needs to be replaced? Any information would be much appreciated. THanks"
