"My 1991 Penta 570dp has a tachometer that is acting improper. When I turn the key on, it goes to the right fully. When I crank, it jumps back left. When I idle, it shows about 3000 rpm and when I rev the engine, it heads to around 500 or less.
Is this a bad tach or is something miswired. I just bought the boat. Actually had a hard time starting from cold. Took about 5 minutes of cranking before it fired up. Once warmed up, it restarted instantly. Coincidental???
