Eng swap from 30 to inline 6cyl

i have a 1986 gaylexs with a 3

i have a 1986 gaylexs with a 3.0 inline 4 cyl that went bad i want to put a inline 6cyl in this does any one know why this want work or how big of a job it is to change it i could realy use the extra hp thanks for any help

"The 3.0L is a 250 inline 6 with 2 cyl cut off. The only items that will not work are the intake, dist. and possibly the flywheel and coupler depending on if your 3.0 is a one piece rear main or not. You will need to re-gear the drive as the 250 uses its own gear ratio to apply the excellent torque of this motor. It is 1:62 and the 3.0 is 1:98. You will possibly need to align the motor because of the added length. Be sure to use your 3.0 front mount and you may not have to re-align."
