"First time changing the spark

"First time changing the spark plugs... 'bout time, huh? Didn't run bad before, but a noticable differance now.
Anyway, is it typical for the exhaust manifolds to interfere with being able to put a standard spark plug wrench on the plugs?
I broke the first plug I tried to remove. I was able to finish the job, but it took some "unusual" tooling."

"I use a MAC spark plug socket with a universal on it. Snap On makes one and the rest do, too. Make sure it's the smallest diameter socket you can get. If you can't get one like that, a box wrench (not the old, thick Craftsman type) works, too."
