"Running a 120 HP Mercruiser and just bought the boat about 3 weeks ago. Anyway, I noticed the other day, while I was out in it, that the speedometer is acting up. For a few minutes, it didn't even work at all, then suddenly it started working. I also believe that it's not giving an accurate reading. Is this something that can be troubleshooted or does this simply mean that a new speedometer is needed?
If troubleshooting can be done, what should I do and what steps do I take?
