I was wondering if anyone know

I was wondering if anyone knows how to adjust the springs inside the trim pump unit. What I am talking about is the three screws that have locking nuts that push down on springs to keep the steel balls seated in there housing. How many turns do I turn down once the screw hits the spring or is it a pop-off pressure thing. Does any one know. Thanks.

"Those valves are not designed

"Those valves are not designed to be readjusted in the field. They are pressure relief valves that will turn the flow of oil off when the pump reaches full pressure.

If you have pressure gauges that you can hook up to the pump, it is possible to adjust them. You are looking for 220-2600 psi on the up valve and 400-600 psi on the down valve.

Get a copy of the Merc manual (there are pdf copies available online) and it will show you how to hook up pressure gauges."
