Shifting problem after engine heats up

I have been having an issue wi

I have been having an issue with after an hour so of crusing without any problems shifting if i turn the shift to nurtral or turn the boat off..it will not start with out pumping it..and will not go run in gear..it will run at a high rpm but not at idel. if i let it set for 15 20 min it will start and let me shift into gear and go... Seem like something to do with a heat problem..choke..cut out switch??? any help ?

Second, what kind of engine do you have?

When you are having these problems, pull the flame arrestor and look at the choke to see if it is open or closed. I believe some of these engines have a safety feature which won't allow it to run above certain temps. (someone else might know)."
