The gimble bearing on my king

The gimble bearing on my king cobra went bad and tore up the transom housing. Where can i get a transom housing? can i install a mercruiser drive cheaper than repairing the OMC drive? The boat has a 5.8 Ford.

"Why would you want to replace the drive with a mercruiser? The cobra is a much better unit. OMC improved all the things merc did wrong.
Just my opinion on that from what I've seen and I am a big merc fan. I've run them for years and still do. But that cobra is a very nice unit.
As far as the gimble housing goes,unless you find a used one you may have to see you're local dealer.
Hard parts like that aren't easy to find. Only place that comes to mind is aftermarketmarine.com. If they do not have it they may know where you can find it . Real nice guy's and very fair."
