1998 30 poping in high RPMs

"My 3.0 is poping above 2500-3

"My 3.0 is poping above 2500-3000 RPMs and has no power. New plugs/wires and timimg checked and seems ok. idles ok but cyl 2&3 seem to be running rich, 1 & 4 are clean. 180-190psi for complession on each cyl. and leak down test is good. Any ideas?"

"Here is a test you can do. Start the engine and hotwire the + of the coil with the + of the battery, then go full throttle. If the boat runs well, the problem could be either in the wiring from the ignition switch to the coil, the ignition switch itself, or the emergency stop switch. If you still have a problem, possible causes could be the ignition coil & associated wiring, a defective electronic ignition module, or inadequate gap in the spark plugs."
 
I have a sneaky suspicion the

I have a sneaky suspicion the head gasket is leaking between 2 & 3. Suggest doing a compression test to find out.
