"I have a boat with a bad 1993

"I have a boat with a bad 1993 7.4L Mercruiser and a Bravo drive. The engine doesn't have fuel injection,electronic ignition, or fresh water cooling. Before rebuilding this engine, I was wondering about replacing with another (newer engine).

Is it possible to replace the 1993 with a year 2000 7.4L MPI engine using the same drive unit ? Any significant additional parts needed ? How about motor mount issues ?

How about a 2003 MX 6.2L MPI Horizon ?

The engine will fit but you will need many parts for the injection system. Unless you find a complete 7.4 with all the electronic's including the wire harness and the injection system you can spend big dollars on parts. There shouldn't be any mounting problems. How can it not have electronic ignition?
