I am considering purchasing a

I am considering purchasing a Seaway Downeast '78 Hull mated to a '92 Mercury 175 HP. I am estimating the weight of the boat at around 2300lbs. I know there are too many variables to measure mpg but what could one expect if one maintained a steady 20 knots in calm water.

I hope you are getting a smoken deal on this.(like almost free) A 14 almost 15 year old big outboard motor? The fuel use maybe the least of your concerns. Marine mechanic is about a 100 bucks an hour now. Forget the parts. You'll need a loan for them. Best of luck.
 
I had an 18' with a 175 Me

I had an 18' with a 175 Merc 2 stroke and only got 1 mile per gallon!! Average pullin a tube and cruising around.

They suck fuel down!
