"i have a twin engine wellcraft. the starboard engine stopped running last august. removed the engine over the winter. the head was cracked and the valves were leaking. replaced head, rings, rod bearings,fuel pump, gaskets, checked the main bearings (well within tolerances) put the boat in and it ran great. now it won't start rechecked the timing and fuel filters. all i can get is it backfiring through the carb. i did get it running the other day but only at high idle. it was like once the bowl was empty it would die out. it is getting fuel, i can see it spraying into the carb. the gas is fine the other engine runs great. i need any ideas that i may have forgot to try!"
