The engine in my boat is not o

The engine in my boat is not original. The stern drive is an 0F... # but how do I find exactly what year the block is?

Its a 3.0L.

merc ser # are on the block ne

merc ser # are on the block next to the starter.

its raining outside and the boat is covered. I don't have it written down. Isn't there a systematic way of finding out? Like model #'s blah through blah are from 94-95 and so on...?

btw, its a GM 3.0L with an Alpha Gen II SD"
