350 mpi shuts down in rough water

I have a 2004 Monteray with m

I have a 2004 Monteray with mercruiser 350 mpi and bravo 3 drive. When in rough seas the alarm sounds 2 beeps then 10 seconds later motor shuts down. I start it back up with no problem and run it untill I hit another big wave and it beeps and shuts down again. If it beeps and I quickly back off on the throttle it wont shut down. All gauges are reading good. Never happens on calm water.

just a guess but could it be a quick loss in oil pressure that is causing this. Someone else might know a little better than me on this one.
 
Check you gear lube monitor bo

Check you gear lube monitor bottle if its low it will send off alarm or you may have a wire shorting out somewhere other than that you will need to check the fault status/history.
