"Just got a Volvo Penta diesal

"Just got a Volvo Penta diesal engine in a sailboat I purchased. 3 cylinder, 28hp, 2006 type engine.
Does anyone know the type/weight of transmission fluid that goes in these?

Depends upon the transmission.

If its a 130S saildrive its Dexron ATF see

for details and other drives.

If its a gear box for a shaft drive get the engine model number off it and down load an owners manual from

You'll be wanting the manual anyway whatever it is. (the webpage illustrates the plate with the number on so you know what you are looking for)
