"I recently purchased a boat with a 9.9 hp 4 stroke that would idel OK but die on acceleration. The motor had not been used for over 12 months.
I have removed, cleaned and rebuilt the carby with new gaskets, o-rings, float valve, float and pilot valve.
My problem is now the motor will not run unless I restrict the air intake with my hand. At which point it runs realy nicely. If I remove my hand the engine dies...
What have I stuffed up? Any ideas?????"
