"Hello all,
THE ISSUE: Engine grossly underpowered under load and engine is fluttering and back-flowing or spitting gas through the carb while rev'ing the engine under no load.
I had a mechanic take a look at my port engine yesterday and after listening to it he determined that my issue could be one of two things. 1) A rocker arm was off or 2) an intake lobe on the camshaft was flattened out.
My first question is what would cause a lobe on a camshaft to flatten out? Is it unusual to have a lobe flattened out without bending a push rob or valve stem?
Thanks for the help!
Jason"
