"I was breaking in a a new mot

"I was breaking in a a new motor and had only about 3 1/2 hours on it. All of a sudden it reved up and shut down. I restarted it no problem and it did it again, except the second time the pull cord was locked up. I'm hoping the motor isn't fried, but I have a bad feeling. Any thoughts out there?"
 
It is a 2 stroke. They recomm

It is a 2 stroke. They recommended that I go 50 to 1 on the first tank of gas which is what I did.

I never made it through the first tank.
