Looks like a coupler - bolts t

Looks like a coupler - bolts to the flywheel
and the splined U-joint yoke goes into it.
Rubber bushing is designed to offer some impact
protection to the drive gears. It's what has to be replaced if the drive/engine are not
properly aligned.
