Warning Alarm Sounds Continuously Mercury 30 HP

"We have a 2000 Mercury 30 hp

"We have a 2000 Mercury 30 hp outboard. Last outing, the oil level got low, the alarm came on, and so we topped off the oil in the reservoir. Now, the alarm will not go off. It comes on immediately when we try to crank the engine and will not go off, even with the reservoir topped off. We bled the oil system but that didn't change anything. Any ideas as to what we should do next? Thanks!"

"it sounds as if it is constant ,prob stuck float/etc in oil tank............disc wires and test.......dont let your oil tank,get so low,it has to tell u to refill........u r playing w/fire,depending on a horn."

"Thanks for the info, you guys. It is a steady beep as soon as the key is turned on. Since my last post, we disconnected the blue wires that run from the oil level sensor to the alarm module. That killed the beep completely. So based on that should we assume that we should replace the oil level sensor?"
