I have a 97 force 75 it has never had a tach installed and want to use a new mercury tach I know the purple wire is from ign and black / ground but which wire goes to the send terminal and where on the motor does it originate

"FYI Here is the correct wiring for a tach for a 75 hp force motor. red wire from another lighted guage to light terminal, black wire to ground, purple wire from harness to ign terminal and gray wire from harness to last terminal. Took some testing and trials but works great.}"
