"I changed the oil in 6/08 and filled it to the correct level. I checked the oil before fishing and it was a little above the checkered marks on the dip stick. I went ahead and fished for the day but tried to use the engine a little as possible. I checked the oil again when I loaded the boat and the oil level was quite high. About 2" above checkered marks. After letting the engine sit overnight, I pulled the dip stick just to see if it was watery or not. The oil was almost to the top of the dipstick tube. Oil looked a little milky, but not terrible.

(When I checked the oil it was just after shuting down the engine, that way I don't get a false high reading)

I was told this engine has had a new power head put on before I bought it.

What could cause the increase in oil level? What are the chances I ruined my engine?

Thanks in advance,
Jason"

I troll a fair amount. That is why I changed the oil in 6/08. It had a lot of white buildup around the dipstick tube.
