"I just purchased a boat with a 95 150HP. When I got it home I discovered the alarm horn was not working. I took it to a certified evinrude tech and he ordered the horn. After a week waiting on the part, he called and said he replaced the horn and it now works but it is reporting an oil pump alarm and I will need to replace the oil pump....he quoted me @ $300 parts/labor. He said the pump could be working fine but the unit is just reporting the alarm....I asked if that was the case, why not change out the module? He said it couldn't be done, the whole pump needs replace....Is the correct? I told him to do it anyway cause I am itching to get on the water.
