"Does a fuel water sep. remove small particles or just seperate water, is it not advisable to run a inline filter before the sep. like a (wix)clear plastic, i think thats not coastguard approved. Since i had a bad problem with rust and water, killing a high pressure pump on my 115 4-stoke i'm leary. What is the best fuel water sep."

"Look at it more like an oil filter however instead of oil its gas. oil is not so viscous like gas is. So i would think that i would remove small particles however not like a regular oil filter does. Does that make since. Hope so. Any sep. will do. The fuel filters are something extra you can get, i have one on mine because its an older fuel tank and boat. Its not a bad idea but its totally up to you."
