"I have several generators for the Y-Block Interceptors. A 56 should be 12Volt negative ground,unless it was a '55 engine.

I am quite sure Petronix makes a conversion for the Mallory distributor. some of the Interceptor distributors that I have are Autolite and I am sure Petronix makes a conversion for the Autolite. Only problem I know of with the electronic conversions is that you have to have full voltage for them to work, so if your battery is low, you probably won't start. Not a good thing if you are somewhere and have been running some accessories and run the battery voltage down a bit."
