"I've got an older small block 350 engine which revs great in neutral but when in gear, under load, it'll run fine for a few minutes then it drops from say 2200 to 1700 rpm and the motor stumbles a bit. If I throttle up, revs go up but will soon drop again. I've changed fuel filters. The Alternator is only putting out 12.4 V. Could it be the alternator? OR, maybe, as it only happens under load, is it likely to be a vaccum hose leak to the carburetor? How would I check that out? Or do you have other ideas besides the alternator or vaccum leak. Thanks.."
