"i now have a 1974 inline 6 260 chevy, with a omc outdrive, will a 6 cylinder merc cruiser fit with the stringer outdrive? any info would be great, thanks, jax"

"the basic engines are both the same 250 cubic inch chevrolet, so it's just a case of swapping all the blue OMC stuff over to the black merc engine until you have a 2 tone motor"

the mounts and all drive related pieces are completely different - no compatibility there.
