"I need help with a Tru-course

"I need help with a Tru-course steering cable replacement question. I own a 1985 21ft Bayliner Trophy Hardtop with Tru-course cable on an OMC 800 Stringer outdrive and 305cid/5.0 V-8 Engine. My question is what length tru-course cable is required for replacement in this application. The plastic cap on the strerndrive end is cracked. Steers fine, no binding or slop but none the less needs to be replaced. I put 2 hose clamps on to keep it together temporarily. Any help would be appreciated. (picture Attached)

"on the red sheath there- about 6 inches left of the left edge of your picture, the part number of the cable is embossed into it. The last 2 digits is the length in feet center to center of the 2 drums"

Thanks for the info. I will take a look at it and find the number on the cable. Hope I can find a replacement at a reasonable price on Ebay or somewhere else. I am guessing it is somewhere between 15 and 18 feet from end to end.
