"Was out cruising yesterday and motor quit. Thought originally it was out of gas, but after adding 5 gallons she still wouldnt start. I pulled the fuel filter out and checked it out, it had a few drops of gas in it. So I poured some gas in the carb and she fired right up. Could it be the mechanical fuel pump, as it hasnt been ran much this year and I think its her first time seeing the new ethanol gas.. Any thing I could do to save it if it is the fuel pump, or just need to replace it? Or am I overlooking some other problem? Any help would be really appreciated!"

Fuel pump or anti-siphon valve

Fuel pump or anti-siphon valve- or carb float or carb full of debris...
Does your fuel pump have the glass bowl or the clear hose for detection of diaphragm rupture? should have 1 or the other and they must be dry. fuel in glass or line means pump failure.
any debris in the filter when you pulled it out?
