"just got 89 3.0L merc I/O. P
"just got 89 3.0L merc I/O. Previous owner claimed boat starts on trailer fine, and in water, but when put in gear only in water, ign fuse blows. 10 amp. have old style coil and only 1 wire from coil to distributor. rewired and immediately blows ign fuse when turn to start. disconnected NSS and engine starts and shifts into gear. No water trial yet. Next day, went to start and immediately blows fuse. Not sure what the fault is. Old style N/C NSS in shifter. N/O NSS in linkage is disconnected. Any ideas."
