"Particulars - 1996 90 HP, Johson OceanRunner Model J90SLED. I'm tracing an oil or oil/gas leak that manifests itself when the motor sits. The boat is on the coast and I use it every couple of months when I get down there. So...
1. Can someone tell me the function and proper operating position of the "Maintenance Valve". (all the way in (CW) or all the way out (CCW) or what? The part number is 0175158.
2. Can someone verify that the hex size on the prop nut is 1 1/16 inch? (I'm not with the boat and want to buy a prop wrench)
3. Is there a rope start kit available for this motor? Can you even start a 90 horse V-4 with a rope? (You can kick start a Harley, but...) Just thought I'd check. I'd hate to get stranded and not have at least even researched it.
