Question About Fuel Consumption

I have a 1965 33 HP Evinrude S

I have a 1965 33 HP Evinrude Ski Twin on a 14 foot aluminum boat. On Sunday I spent about two hours pulling the kids on a tube and used about four gallons of gas. Is this a lot or normal? It seems like a lot to me. If it is too much then what is the cause?

if you were running wide open

if you were running wide open I would say it is normal try sking behind a bigger motor and see what you would burn
