"Hey guys, I am back looking for more advice. Mortens advice helped me GREATLY with my 4cyl TAMD RIB motor, and I was able to enjoy the boat for a long time before selling it to a guy in Miami. I was also able to find the BEST mechanic for Penta, his name is Claus (Claus Marine) in Loxahatchee FL.

Now I am looking at a 26ft dive boat (6-pack charter type) that is powered with TAMD40. Engine runs great, no smoke, no leaks. I was wondering what to look for before closing the deal, and what is the recommended RPM for this engine. Its the 165hp model.

Thanks in advance!

"Be especially focused on oil pressure, teperature on all revs and max. RPM that should reach 3600 on full throttle. The engine should be regularly maitained incl. oil and filter changes. Check also the function of the turbocharger. And if all is ok you will have a reliable engine if you continue the focus on elements above. Greetings from Norway and
