I got this motor ready to star

I got this motor ready to start up and I am having trouble keeping it running. It will start for about 10-15 seconds but then it dies on me. I tried to throttle it up also and it did for a second and then shut down. What main things should I check to get this motor to keep running after start?

"easy thing first. is the choke in the manual off/on or auto position? if you crank the engine with the fuel filter line in a can, see if it spits out copious amounts of fuel. If so...remove the carburetors, and makes sure all the passages are clear. slowly bottom out the mixture screws and make a note of how many turns they are set at. then remove them. spray Gumout thru them and the main jet passages. if you damage the gaskets get rebuild kits."
