I have a 3.0 mercruiser alpha

I have a 3.0 mercruiser alpha gen 2..
The speedo dosent work.. so i unhooked the tube and wires that runs to the speedo guage and i am getting some water from the hose when the boat is moving. When i hook the wires back to the guage the speedo inside gets foggy on the glass.. I thought maybe the tube might be clogged?? I dunno... I checked the fuse and its ok...any suggestions? Thanks.

"Water in the tube says it's not blocked. Moisture is inside the gauge causing the fogging. Remove the gauge and place it inside a sealable sandwich bag for several days with a few descicant packets that will draw out the moisture from the gauge. Blow the water out of the air tube for a few minutes and plug it while the gauge dries out. When you put the gauge back cut 1" off the hose for a tight fit. Disconnect the air hose at the OD and pump a few shots of compressed air into it and see if the gauge moves. If not, replace the gauge."
