"This is concerning an older Crusader engine. Before changing fuel filters and fuel/water separators is the drill to shut off the fuel tanks and run the engine dry or is that unecessary? If I run the engine dry, when starting the engine after replacing filters there'll be air in the system. Could that be a problem with a carburetored engine so that I'd have to bleed the system, or will normal engine cranking deliver fuel to the carb without the headache of bleeding the air out? In other words is bleeding essential?"
