I was told the best way to get

I was told the best way to get dirt and setiment out of the fuel tank is to run the motor and change fuel/water separator until clean. There has to be a better way. That setiment has to be killer for the engine.

NEVER run the motor to clean a dirt fuel tank..you will ruin the motor.

If you have a metal (and some fiber glass..glue in them) tank the 10% ethanol will act like a solvent which could contribute to the dirt and setiments in the tank. I used in the past a RV pump to draw the fuel out of the tank in the boat. Use the RV pump used for sink or showers and just hook it up to a 12 volt battery.
