"I have a '96 Reinell with

"I have a '96 Reinell with a 5.0 alpha one when shifting from neutral to reverse the engine dies, after about 4 or 5 tries i can finally keep the engine running and shift into reverse. It only happens when shifting into reverse not forward. When in reverse it runs great. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Aaron R."

"Its never the switch, leave it alone. Replace the shift cable and it will go away. Resistance in an old cable makes the switch and stalls you out."

agee. It is usually the friction in worn cables that makes the switch get pushed. Pull the cover off and watch the linkage and you will see it hit the switch when you shift more than likely.
 
i ran a seperate kill switch t

i ran a seperate kill switch to the dash for shifting cause the cables are somewhat $. I'm on a college budget.
