"I have lost some rpm's on

"I have lost some rpm's on top end. I had the stator work loose twice on me,after the second time I pulled the bolts and loctited them. The engine don't seem to perform like it used to.I have lost almost a 1000 rpm's.The engine runs fine,but don't seem to lift the boat like it used to. Could the stator cause this"

"Can you loosen the bolts up and move the stator what little it will move to make a difference.If so which way would retard or advance,if it works that way(i'm used to doing this on cars and don't know if it works the same.)Thanks for all the help"

"The stator does not controle the timing, the stator is fixed. It is the timer base which is moving that is the one that advance/retard the timing.
Have a comp test made, and check the plugs. Please give a color fed back and we may help you on."
 
How many pounds per cylinder o

How many pounds per cylinder on the comp test is it suppose to have.Thanks for all the help.
