After like an hour or so of cruising I find that there is 1/2-3/4 pail of water I can sop out with a sponge.

While engine is running and warmed up (30mins into ride) I check underneath the engine and don't see anything leaking. Where should I check?

Note that I have engine box off since I just got a rebuilt engine and am still in tweaking phase.

thanks in advance...

1. the transom boot and the clamp around the boot- especially at the bottom and especially if you have selectrim.
2. Where the shift cable comes through the intermediate.

Thanks...my buddy thinks it may be water drain valve not tightened on exhaust manifold.

I will check the transom boot (big rubber gasket that connects stern drive to transom?). I do have SelectTrim.

I just bought 1985 Galaxy Day Cruiser from single owner and will ask him when he last serviced stern drive unit...he owns a Midas so hopefully the regular svc was done.

I have picked up hi-vis/ep/etc. lubes and will attempt lubing/filling next time I'm out.
