"I've purchased a `89 Bayliner with a newly installed 6 cylinder GM 4.3 Liter Vortex motor. There are a multitude of numbers on the motor and I am not sure which is the serial number, model number etc. How do you identifiy the year? There is no ID plate on the motor to look at and all the numbers appear to be cast on the block when it was cast. Here are the numbers that I can see: GM12552422, 2603, 14099090M, DO93. The motor uses a heat exchanger to cool the inner cooling system and the raw water is ported through the exhaust manifolds. There is only the stren drive water pump for water and there is no secondary raw water pump before it gets to the heat exchanger."
