"Does anyone know where I can get a new, or excellent used 12 bolt 4 bl cast iron intake for my 4.3? The boat is a 1989 Sea Ray Amberjack with twin 4.3 V-6 Mercruiser 205HP.
I contacted the Mercury Marine warehouse in Cranbury, NJ and was told they have no stock, and none expected in the near future!
Mine rusted through directly below the thermostat housing, and it's starting to seep water into the lifter valley of my motor.
I had my motors rebuilt at the beginning of last season, with new heads installed.
I re-used the intakes, since they seamed to be OK at that time with a small (I thought) amount of rust in that area.
I sealed it with epoxy on the inside to try to make it through the fall striper season, but I know it's a disaster waiting to happen!
Any help would be appreciated
