I'm running a 220 hp 5.0L

I'm running a 220 hp 5.0L Baja Islander 192 3000 pounds. The current prop is running 59 mph @ 4600 on speedo with a stainless 23 three blade. Looking for more speed?

not sure how with 3k lbs ur even seeing 59mph with a 305 and 220hp

is that 59mph verified by gps?

I doubt there is any mph left to find but thats just my op

If that 59 mph

"Sam is right.
If that 59 mph is correct, that is phenomenal for a 220 hp 5L pushing a 3000 lb boat.
For more speed you will need more hp.
Consider a 5.7 or a 6.2 MAG MPI. The latter will get you into 320 shaft hp and another 10 mph or so.

"I would think that boat would be more like 2200 pounds, no?
If you are getting 4600 rpm at WOT , you have the best prop on the boat already."

A 21P x 15.25" will get yo

A 21P x 15.25" will get you to 4800 RPM and just maybe 60 MPH and a tad bit faster out of the hole but you may not notice it.

using the prop slip calculator you have about 11% slip. in my opinion, the best you could get is about 7% slip @62mph. What make/model prop is it? Merc's tempest plus prop usually works well with light I/O's. But anyone will tell you, propping a boat is a black art and the only way to do it is by trial and error."
